Vertical coal mills are common in the cement, steel and coal grinding industries, as well as thermal power plants. The MPS mill, the ATOX mill and LM vertical mill are the three primary varieties of vertical coal mills.
MPS Mill:
MPS coal mill is a common coal mill for thermal power plants. An MPS mill’s planetary gearbox, which rotates at a constant speed, powers the grinding table. Hydraulic cylinders press the rollers against the grinding table. The raw coal feed pipe feeds coal into the mill, where it is ground between the grinding table’s rollers. The dust collector then collects the ground coal that has been swept out of the mill by the air stream.
ATOX Mill:
The ATOX mill is a popular coal mill in the steel and cement industries. A hydraulic system provides the grinding pressure applied to the ATOX grinder rolls. Coal enters the mill through a chute. The pressure between the discs and rollers grinds the coal into a fine powder. The dust collector then collects the coal fines that fly out of the mill with the airflow.
LM Vertical Mill:
Another popular vertical coal mill is the LM vertical coal mill. It is useful in many different industries such as cement, electric power, metallurgy, chemical industry, non-metallic minerals and so on. Its creator is SBM, a well-known supplier of industrial mills.
The material is ground between the grinding disc and the grinding roller of the vertical mill. This type of grinding uses rollers to exert pressure on a disc. A gear unit or a hydraulic system drives the grinding roller. Material enters the grinder through the center of the grinding disc. Then it runs outward under the action of centrifugal force. The airflow washes away the fine particles, but the coarse particles fall back onto the grinding disc for further grinding.
The LM Vertical Mill offers the benefits of excellent grinding efficiency, low power consumption, big feed size, simple equipment process flow, and easy product fineness adjustment. It may mill a variety of substances, including talc, gypsum, barite, calcite, dolomite, and other non-metallic minerals.
Both varieties of vertical coal mills have benefits and drawbacks. The MPS mill has a greater capacity for grinding, but it is more complicated and needs more upkeep. The ATOX mill has a lesser grinding capacity but is simpler and easier to maintain. LM Vertical Mill combines the advantages of the above two coal mills. The final choice depends on actual needs.
